What to watch
After taking part in the 2002 series of Big Brother, alison forged a career in TV, appearing on shows such as This Morning and Loose Women. Here, she tells us about her latest gig as the referee in the BBC1 quiz, The Time It Takes.
How are you enjoying your role as referee? i’m coming to work and having so much fun, to the point where it’s not really work. actually, that’s not true because it is quite tiring! but doing all the games, it’s a dream. Honestly, i’m enjoying it so much.
Has your previous experience as a holiday rep helped? it’s weird, because i did think, ‘This is what i used to do’. i used to love making up games as a child and then i took that into the repping, too. and it reminded me of when i went into Big Brother as well. When we got bored, we used to play silly games.
were you a game show fan before this? i love game shows! i’m rubbish at them, mind. it’s the question aspect i like, but on this show, i don’t get to listen because i’m always timing somebody and waiting to blow my whistle. if i take my eye off the ball, i’ll forget to blow my whistle.
Could you persuade any a-list celebs to guest on the show? you never know. maybe with a second series we might be able to get Tom cruise or Will Smith. i’ll give them a call!
