Glaswegian Billy trained as a welder before becoming a folk singer in the 1960s, and shot to fame as a comedian after a 1975 appearance on BBC1 chat show Parkinson. acting roles in the 1980s included TV shows such as Worzel Gummidge and Supergran. In the

1997 film Mrs Brown, his portrayal of John Brown, close friend of Queen Victoria (Judi Dench), earned him a BAFTA nomination.

In Billy Connolly’s Ultimate World Tour, the comedian reflects on 25 years of travelling around the globe on comedy tours and TV travelogue­s, such as Journey to the Edge of the World and Route 66. In this documentar­y, the 76-year-old, who revealed in 2013 that he had Parkinson’s disease, shows cameras around his Florida home, which he moved to after doctors advised him to live in a warmer climate.
