‘my husband massages my groin!’

Didi Conn, who played Frenchy in the film Grease, is skating with Lukasz Rozycki and tells us all about her husband’s healing hands and whether her fellow film stars will come and watch her.

‘I keep in touch with John Travolta and olivia newton-john, so you never know. They may come watch me if they’re around, but I don’t think they’d get on a plane specifically to come!’ and she’s not afraid to embrace the film that made her famous in her performances. ‘I don’t mind dancing to Beauty

School Dropout,’ she admits, ‘But I don’t want to wear a pink wig. To put the pink wig on me now would be Grandma Frenchy!’

Luckily for Didi, 67, it sounds like her husband, David Shire, is taking good care of her after the gruelling hours in rehearsals.

‘my husband is so funny,’ she says. ‘we were out to dinner and he was telling our friends that he massages me all the time and rubbed his groin. I was like, “You don’t have to show everybody where you do it!”’

But her family aren’t seeing the funny side of the show, and even question why she signed up in the first place.

‘I have three brothers and they were like, “You’re crazy, why are you doing Dancing on Ice?”’ she says. ‘“Don’t you remember what Dad said?” He used to say, “Don’t be wild!” Those were his parting words. I had to promise them I’d be safe.’
