Katie’s life will never be the same again

You’ve got to sympathise with the glamour model – she’s got a rough road ahead

-

I’m worried about Katie Price. I don’t say that often. But I really am. She has revealed that she will never be able to walk for more than 20 minutes again. Her doctor has told Katie she is essentially disabled and has written a letter confirming she needs a blue badge, entitling her to disability parking. All of this because she jumped off a wall in a water park.

Katie is often accused of doing anything to be the centre of attention. There were a lot of raised eyebrows about how injured she was. But it turns out she has long-term damage.

Whatever you think of the model/serial bride/five-time mum/wannabe singer, this news is awful. Not least because a glamour girl who can’t wear high heels is just, well, a girl.

The latest saga in a life with more twists than a 1960s fancy-dress party comes just after she won over enemies with her Harvey And Me documentary.

In the BBC show, she dragged herself on her bum to avoid putting pressure on her feet while looking after her severely disabled son. She motored along the corridors of Great Ormond Street Hospital on a mobility scooter to take him for an appointment. She thought carefully about her boy’s future.

She faces the second half of her life with a disability. She will have to look after Harvey, her other kids and her terminally ill mum, while unable to walk properly. I wish Katie all the strength in the world, she’s going to need it.
