Octavia Spencer stars in Thunder Force on Netflix

Octavia’s big-screen debut was in A Time To Kill (1996), which led to roles in hit films including Being John Malkovich
(1999), Big Momma’s House (2000) and Spider-man (2002). However, her breakthrough role was in The Help (2011), which won her an Oscar for best supporting actress. She was also nominated in the same category for 2016’s Hidden Figures and 2017’s The Shape of Water.

In Netflix comedy Thunder Force, Octavia stars alongside Melissa Mccarthy to play 40-something friends Emily and Lydia, who acquire some extraordinary powers and become an unlikely pair of superheroes as a result. Look out for Jason Bateman as Crab Man, a villain with a very bizarre set of claws who ends up helping the friends rid Chicago of supervillain The King (Bobby Cannavale).
