First dance

For our wedding anniversary in September, I wanted that ‘first dance’ we’d missed out on. We’d intended to throw a party and surprise our families with our dance, but lockdown meant we had to postpone that. Instead, Gerry and I dressed up and had a slow dance and a jive with Agatha looking on. It felt monumental to think back to who I was 11 years ago, happy to be marrying the love of my life but terrified about getting through the day. Now, during one of the most frightening periods in history, I was able to smile, dance and enjoy myself.
