QWhen I met a lovely man at a dance class, we started partnering each other two or three times each week. I was sure we were a match romantically until he dropped into the conversation that he’s homosexual! When I was surprised, he said he thought it was obvious he was

gay, and surely I’d known all along that he wasn’t interested in a relationship. Now I don’t know whether to keep dancing with him or not. I’m so confused!

There’s no blame here. Your friend simply thought his sexual preferences were clear. You simply weren’t able to notice those preferences. But what now? You certainly have a good friendship and dancing partnership. But can you be happy with that alone, knowing it won’t lead to a relationship, knowing you’ll have to look elsewhere for love? If you can be happy, enjoy! If not, then for both your sakes find another man to dance with.
