As I sit here and write this, there’s no doubt that everything feels uncertain. Yet again, history is being made and not for good reasons. After two years of a pandemic, which still haunts us, we now bear witness to some of the most horrendous images showcasing mankind at its worst – and others that restore our faith in humanity despite the horrors unfolding. As our columnist Nicola Methven (p90) says, ‘We will never kill the human spirit of ordinary people.’ A few weeks back I talked about this magazine being a place of escapism and I stand by that. In a world full of magnified unknowns, it’s perhaps more important than ever to take some time out and away from the constant stream of sad news we are greeted with. We may face difficult times to come, not least with our cost of living being of huge concern, and we will endeavour, with the help of our specialists – including money expert Martin Lewis (p42) – to bring you tangible ways to help cut your bills and provide as many offers as possible. This week, you’ll see that we have a number of discounts, including 20% off pet insurance (p45). As always, we’d love to hear from you on our Woman Facebook page, so please do let us know what you’d like to see more of. Have a lovely week.
