Agatha Christie’s novel is brought to life in this three-part adaptation, written and directed by Hugh Laurie. Will Poulter plays vicar’s son Bobby, who teams up with Lady Derwent (Lucy Boynton) to investigat­e the murder of a man whose last words were, ‘Why didn’t they ask Evans?’ Jim Broadbent and Dame Emma Thompson also star as Lady Derwent’s parents, Lord and Lady Marcham.

Set in a women’s prison, this six-part documentar­ystyle comedy has been created by Catherine Tate, who also appears in various roles, including vain prison guard Marco, psychopath­ic inmate Big Viv and prison governor Laura Willis, who believes putting on a show will help the women’s rehabilita­tion. The series follows the inmates as they rehearse West Side Story, directed by former Eastenders actor Cheryl Fergison. Poldark’s Christian Brassingto­n also stars.

Sarah Lancashire stars as TV chef Julia Child, who was played by Meryl Streep in the 2009 movie Julie & Julia. The series explores her life, marriage and how her TV show, The French Chef, introduced French cuisine to American TV viewers. Frasier’s David Hyde Pierce also stars.
