JULIA’S CANCER JOURNEY
Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury, 51, has opened up about her mastectomy, saying, ‘I felt like a piece of meat on a block. [The markings for incisions] were like something you see in the butcher’s at that point, and I think this is a moment that every woman who has had a mastectomy will share – I had never felt so lost, so out of control, and so deeply sad.’ Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer last September, and has recalled seeing her reconstructed breast for the first time, saying, ‘It looked like a plasticine boob.’
