Her divorce from husband of 20 years Phil Vickery, 60, has been far from easy and Fern Britton, 64, has been open about feelings of loneliness, admitting, ‘Sometimes you get a bit lonely in the brainbox… I miss being with people my age.’ But now she’s embarking on a ‘brand new chapter’ and, if she is to meet someone new, she has made it clear that she won’t be putting up with any nonsense. ‘I’m not going to take any more s**t from anybody,’ she said. ‘When you’re 60, you think, “Do you know what? I can’t be a***d. I’m allowed to say it.”’ Amen to that, Fern!
