Sunscreen savvy

You may have cracked open the sunscreen, but did you stop to check its sell-by date? Skincare retailer Face the Future found that 83% of people might be at risk of sun damage this year, simply because they don’t keep track of when their skincare products, including SPF, go out of date.

‘Just like with other skincare products, SPF becomes less effective over time meaning that it won’t be able to give your skin the same level of protection – resulting in a significantly increased risk of sun damage,’ says head of clinic Kimberley Hulme. ‘As a general rule, once opened you should only be using your SPF for a maximum of three months before replacing it.’
