Learn to go green together

-

Q I’m looking after my grandchildren during the half-term holiday. They are really into being green, but I don’t have a clue about all that. Are there any good books to help us learn together?

RAE SAYS

A Learning together about eco issues, and doing something about them, is a great idea. I asked Jen Gale, author of The Sustainable(ish) Guide to Green Parenting and founder of The Knackered Mums’ Eco Club, for her top reads. How about starting the week by choosing one from your local library?

For very young children, Jen suggests Melanie Walsh’s 10 Things I Can Do to Help My World or Jess French and Claire Mcelfatrick’s The Book of Brilliant Bugs.

If they are at primary school, try Martin Dorey’s Kids Fight Plastic or Aubre Andrus’ 101 Small Ways to Change the World. Are they a bit older? In that case, there’s Mike Berners-lee’s book, There is No Planet B.
