THIS SMELLS PROMISING!

-

A huge 71% of Brits lost their sense of smell and taste as a result of COVID-19, with 20% saying they are yet to return, a survey by Gousto revealed. The impact of this shouldn’t be underestimated, and more than one in five people experiencing the unpleasant side effect reported that they felt ‘depressed’ as a result of it.

So what can you do if, like 17% of respondents, you’re unable to smell your morning coffee or taste your favourite chocolate? Gousto have joined forces with smell disorder charity Abscent to launch flavour-saviour.co.uk – a website offering free resources for those seeking a solution. These include a guide to smell training – a science-backed tool to help regain lost senses through the twice-daily stimulation of smell receptors. It’s far from an instant cure and will take some time, but everything you need to get started is online and is likely already in your kitchen cupboards.
