DOUBLE THE GAINS
We know that getting out for a walk or bike ride can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, but those suffering with these conditions also get the most heart health benefits, according to a new study**. People who exercised the recommended 150 minutes per week, and also had anxiety or depression, reduced their risk of a major cardiovascular event by 22%, which is double the cardiovascular benefit gained by people who had neither mental health issue. It can be difficult at first, but this should motivate those stuck in a rut to get moving. Any amount of exercise can be beneficial, the researchers said, and you’ll feel better and boost your heart health. It’s a no-brainer!
