EVERY SNACK COUNTS

-

Is your love of crisps the reason you’re putting on the pounds? One large ‘grab bag’ averages 240 calories, so snaffling an extra one of these every day for a year would mean an extra 1st in weight gain.

But a huge three-quarters of us underestimate how much a small change, like cutting down on crisps, could make to our weight. In a recent survey* it was found that while most people could accurately guess the amount of calories in meals, snacks were another story. Nearly everyone surveyed said half a sharing bag of tortilla chips had 214 calories on average, which is almost half the actual figure of 447. So, if you’re watching your weight, what you eat between meals could be tripping you up.
