Confidence issues
Being sure of yourself is a good thing, right? Well, not necessarily when it comes to your health.
While most adults (79%) judged the quality of their health accurately, a tenth under or overestimated it – and the latter could be problematic. On average, we visit the doctors nine times per year, but those who are overconfident about their health are 17% less likely to make an appointment*.
Ignoring symptoms or not attending health screenings when invited means that if you do get an illness, it will continue to progress, and when it’s eventually picked up later down the line, it may be harder to treat as a result. If you experience symptoms that are unusual for you, don’t hesitate to get in contact with your GP or health professional.
