Boris Johnson’s last day as prime minister may well not amuse Her Majesty. The outgoing leader has told Parliament he will stand down on 6 September, when the Queen will officially accept his resignation in person. The only snag is the 96-year-old monarch will have to interrupt her summer break at Balmoral.
