RYAN GIGGS

Once the Welsh captain and one of Manchester United’s revered ‘class of ’92’, Ryan Giggs has had a dramatic fall from grace. As Woman went to print, the former footballer, 48, was on trial for coercive behaviour and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, 36, and her younger sister, Emma, 26.

In the first of many accusations, the court heard how ‘Giggs threw a bag at [Kate’s] head with a laptop in it which caused [her] head to swell and bruise, kicked [her] out of bed and threw [her] out of the hotel room naked again’ – all of which Ryan denies. Text messages, however, revealed Kate saying, ‘I want you so badly. Rough’ to which Giggs responded, ‘Do you? I’m scared of hurting you,’ and she replied, ‘I want it to hurt a little, not in a weird way. I just want you to surprise and shock me.’

What’s the truth? The court will decide.
