Ruth’s weight woes

-

Ruth Langsford may ooze confidence in the outfit snaps she shares with her one million Instagram fans, but the star has to work to feel good. Ruth, 62, who fronts a successful clothing range with QVC, has opened up about weight gain.

She explained, ‘These days I put on weight much more easily. I’ve a slightly underactive thyroid that’s not medicated, which makes it harder.’ The mum of one continued to state she is ‘not ready to say, “To hell with it, I’m going to eat and drink what I want, and who cares what size I am?”’ Instead, she tries to find a balance in her diet, explaining, ‘I try to eat healthily, and take my breakfast, a green juice and my lunch to work.’ Exercise wise, Loose Women star Ruth says she loves walking with her beloved dog Maggie. Still, while she may be somewhat of a style queen, Ruth admits there are times when she finds

trying on clothes depressing. She says, ‘When you’re 60, flattering clothes are hard to find. I can be reduced to tears trying to buy jeans.’ Looking at her Instagram, you wouldn’t always know that Ruth struggles, and according to the star it’s all to do with the people around her, including husband Eamonn Holmes, 62, and their son Jack. She says, ‘Feeling fabulous is partly about how you look but also about feeling fabulous in your relationship, friendships, career and social life. At this age, it’s about enjoying life. We can all compare ourselves to others but what’s the point?’ That sounds like sage advice to us, Ruth!
