They must be quite brave at Sky TV, where they’re making a pilot in which Leigh Francis brings his old Bo’ Selecta! character, Avid Merrion, out of retirement. A couple of years ago, he issued a tearful apology after realising his impersonations of black stars including Craig David, Michael Jackson, Trisha Goddard and Mel B, were ‘offensive’. Now a new sketch show is in the pipeline, with Avid fixing his gaze on a new bunch of victims. Eek!
