Danny Dyer revealed he was forced to take time out of BBC soap

Eastenders after his life spun out of control during the height of his success. The 45-year-old admitted, ‘I turned to the bosses of Eastenders and I said, “Listen, I’ve got to go somewhere, I am going to die.”’ He explained ‘Fame never suited me… So I lost the plot for many years and I was a f ***** g lunatic… I became a sort of cartoon character… I got wrapped up in that and I sort of lost who I was… I was doing s**t loads of f ****** g drugs. I was searching for something. There was a hole in me… I was vulnerable, but of course I couldn’t play vulnerable because I’m playing Danny Dyer, whatever that is.’
