Help! My husband struggles to have sex

-

Q It’s a second marriage for both of us, we each felt we’d found our soulmate, and our wedding day this April was wonderful. But having decided to make love only after marriage, our wedding night was a disaster and my husband confessed he’s always had difficulty with sex. We’re still very much in love, but are worried that his lifetime issues just can’t be solved. Is there any possible way to turn this around?

SUSAN SAYS

A This is a longstanding problem and will need expert guidance, so ask your GP to recommend a psychosexual counsellor. And then – and this is key – go together to counselling because your husband needs to know that he doesn’t have to face his sexual difficulties alone as he’s done all his life. And you need to know that you can recover your confidence after this wobble. Stand together and you have a great chance of sorting this out.
