WHAT’S THE LATEST?

-

The Queen’s death forced a frenzy of old traditions and ceremonies never seen before on television.

The most bizarre, for me, was the ceremony proclaiming Charles king on the steps of London’s Royal Exchange.

There was the Lord Mayor dressed in gold and black robes. On his flank, he was joined by what looked like characters from the same high-end fancy dress party. A man with a giant sword wearing tights who read from what looked like one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, a High Court judge, what looked like a group of choristers, and a man in a fur hat which looked like he’d pinched it from Camilla, the Queen Consort’s winter wardrobe.

Makes you proud to be British, doesn’t it?!
