With wages not growing as fast as the rate of inflation, it could be time to ask your boss for a pay rise. Here’s how to approach it. Research. Before you ask, see what similar businesses pay for your role – is it more? Sites such as Linkedin or Glassdoor are a good starting point for research. Just be aware salaries can vary between different regions and responsibilities can differ, too. Explain why you’re worth it. Tell your employer of your achievements and what you have contributed to the business.

Be confident. If you do not think you are being paid fairly, speak up. Equally, if the cost of living means your income is no longer sufficient, have an honest conversation with your employer.
