Weekend warriors, rejoice!

-

Find that you’re too stressed and tired to fit much exercise in during the week, but love a long walk at the weekend? That’s fine if it works for you! As long as you do 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week (or 75 minutes’ vigorous exercise) it makes no difference if you do it spread over seven days or all in one go at the weekend, according to an American study.

Moderate activity should make you breathe harder and make your heart beat faster than usual, but you should still be able to have a conversation while you’re doing it – this includes brisk walking or slow jogging or cycling, whereas running, swimming or cycling uphill or at a higher intensity would count as vigorous exercise.
