BEDROOM BLUNDERS
Forget workplace injuries – have you ever accidentally hurt yourself between the sheets? One in three UK residents have suffered from a sex-related injury at some point in their lifetime, with men being more likely (45%) to have one than women (27%), according to a survey by digital pharmacy medino.com.
Residents from London are the most likely (44%) to get injured during sex, with pelvic fractures the most common incident to occur.
Meanwhile, those from the North West are the least likely to experience a sex-related injury, with a muscle tear being the most common injury in this region.
In fact, the number of sex-related injuries requiring treatment at one London pain clinic quadrupled in five years, perhaps because it’s considered less taboo. Don’t be embarrassed to tell the truth. ‘Sex-related injuries need to be checked out right away by a health professional,’ says pharmacist Giulia Guerrini. ‘They can leave you in a lot of pain and could put you at risk of infection.’
