My friend is being cheated on

Q A few months ago I saw a friend’s husband leaving a pub with another woman. From the way they kissed goodnight, it definitely wasn’t his sister! I said nothing, hoping it was a one-off, but sadly a few weeks later I saw them again, in another pub. I walked out before he saw me. I’ve been on the receiving end of a cheating partner and it hurts being the last one to know.

I don’t know what to do.

A Why protect him from the consequences of his behaviour by hiding? Next time you see him, say hi. But before you charge in, ask yourself ‘Why do I want to intervene?’ and ‘What do I hope to achieve ?’ This situation rings your bells and in helping your friend, you want to rewrite what happened to you. But it won’t do that and telling her may only get you shot as the messenger. You could take him aside and tell him how you are feeling and why. Then, it’s up to them.
