SUPPORT WITH BILLS

Struggling with broadband and other bills? Help is on offer if you’re on a low income or on certain benefits.

✱ Social tariffs Ask your broadband provider if they offer social tariffs and what the eligibility criteria is – only 55,000 out of the 4.2 million who are eligible are signed up. Not all providers offer them, but the likes of BT, Sky and Virgin Media do. Some smaller providers also offer such tariffs.

✱ Energy hardship funds If you need help with your energy bill, you may be able to get help from these funds. If you think you may be eligible, contact your supplier as soon as possible as they are limited.

✱ Talk to your bank If you need support or are worried you may miss bill payments, get in touch. Banks have said they are putting extra support measures and guidance in place to help customers, so see what help yours can provide to support you.
