was lucky enough to sit down with Clare Balding, Lorraine Kelly and Vicky Mcclure as they presented inspirational ladies with awards at the 68th annual Women of the Year Lunch.
Lorraine gave Jacqueline Crawford – who helped send baby boxes to new mothers in Ukraine – the Trailblazer Award, telling us, ‘I’ve been coming to this for 25 years… There are so many inspirational speakers and women doing amazing things and you always feel like things are getting better but this year, with everything that’s going on in Iran, Afghanistan, Ukraine, it’s
even more important and is about showing solidarity.’ Awarding the Gilead Campaigner for Health Equity Award to Black Women Rising founder Leanne Pero, Clare added, ‘It’s a great opportunity to celebrate women from all different walks of life.’ And Vicky – who presented Colleen Cheungying Wong, the founder of Techsixtyfour, with the Vodafone Woman of Innovation Award
– said, ‘Nowadays we are seeing that the world is being run by the goodwill of the people and that is so inspiring.’
