HONESTY ABOUT EDITING
Youth mental health campaigner Suzanne Samaka is the founder of the #Honestyaboutediting campaign. She says, ‘Young people are more impressionable and they are constantly comparing themselves to edited images which are being passed off as natural. This contributes to poor body image, a lack of body confidence and, in more severe cases, body dysmorphia and eating disorders. My campaign calls for all images that have been digitally manipulated to be highlighted in the same way that ad content is highlighted on social media. It could make a vital difference in helping people understand that what you see is not always the reality.’
