I want to end our festive ‘sex deal’

QEvery Christmas I meet up with my old school friends for a great night out. One of them always stays over with me and we often end up in bed together – we’re both single, so it’s no strings attached. But this year, post-lockdown, I’m feeling so lonely that I worry about sleeping with him then feeling abandoned over Christmas when he leaves. Should I disappoint him or go through with our normal sex deal?

ANever ‘go through’ with anything you don’t want to, in bed or out of it. If your friend’s disappointed that there’s no sex on the menu this year, then that’s his problem! I guess you could suggest he stays on with you over the festive period if that would help. That said, now that lockdown’s over, it’s clearly time for you to find a new loving partner. Start thinking about how you could do that in 2023.
