Bread sauce
A quintessential classic.
MAKES 200G PREP 5 MINS COOK 15 MINS
✱ 500ml whole milk
✱ 60ml single cream
✱ 50g butter
✱ 1 garlic clove
✱ 1 bay leaf
✱ 100g breadcrumbs
1 Combine the milk, cream, butter and garlic in a pan, season and add the bay leaf. Simmer for 10 mins.
2 Remove the garlic and bay leaf, stir in the breadcrumbs and simmer for 5 mins until thick and creamy.
3 Serve or let stand and reheat.
