PATSY Foulmouthed magazine editor Patsy (Joanna Lumley) loves drinking and smoking, and claims to have not eaten since the 80s.

SAFFY Eddy’s put-upon daughter (Julia Sawalha) is the show’s only sensible character, who disappoints her mother by preferring books to Bacardi.

MOTHER Eddy’s mum (the late, great June Whitfield) is a little bumbling, but never misses the opportunity to wipe the smile off her daughter’s face.

BUBBLES Jane Horrocks is side splitting as Eddy’s dim-witted and weirdly dressed assistant, who once said, ‘I am hopeless with names, faces and people.’
