A welcome return

Smart money is on the much-loved Detectorists returning for a festive special on BBC2. Writer and star Mackenzie Crook confirmed that a 75-minute special will air this year and Christmas seems the perfect time. Mackenzie said: ‘I’ve had a story percolating for a while that I thought was worth getting the band back together for.’ What a treat.
