From the palace
Like Good King Wenceslas in the Christmas carol, King Charles is handing lower-paid staff a bonus out of his own pocket. Charles has told hundreds of workers, including cleaners, servants and footmen, that they will receive up to £600 on top of this month’s salary to help with the cost of living crisis. He wants to contribute to his staff’s heating bills and higher mortgage payments amid recession fears. All staff also get a traditional Christmas pudding as a present. God Save The King!
