The plan requires just two ‘willpower days’ a week, when you’re restricted to 800 calories. The rest of the time you can enjoy our ‘relax menu’ , picking from our tasty but good-for-you meals and daily treats.

How to do it

Follow our two days on, five days off pattern for two weeks to lose up to 5lb. Your 800-calorie days can be consecutiv­e or split.

Keep it going

Stay on the plan to continue losing a pound or so a week. Or have just one 800 calorie day weekly to keep a stable weight.

Willpower day

Include these two days each week

Day one (800 calories) Breakfast

Two poached eggs on a slice of unbuttered toast; two grilled large flat mushrooms. lunch Salad with 125g drained can tuna in water, 15g black olives in brine, 50g little gem lettuce, 7 cherry tomatoes, 50g blanched green beans and 1tsp olive oil. Dinner 125g courgette ‘spaghetti’ topped with turkey bolognese: 100g 2% fat turkey mince stir fried in 1tsp oil and bolognese sauce from a jar. A banana.

Day two (800 calories) Breakfast

150g 0% Greek yogurt with 100g blueberrie­s. lunch Wholemeal pitta with 150g prawns, 2tbsp low-fat thousand island dressing and rocket leaves. Dinner 150g chicken breast wrapped with two slices of Parma ham and baked; 80g each peas and carrots. An apple.
