Coleen Nolan: Why Ray keeps leaving her
Coleen Nolan’s startlingly honest marriage confession….
Loose lady Coleen Nolan has revealed, in a frank and honest admission, that her husband Ray Fensome ‘dumps’ her on a regular basis!
The star, who has been very open about the recent turbulence in her marriage, then went on to say that it happens because he ‘can’t be bothered’ to hang around with her!
Talking on Loose Women about going to parties and events with partners, Coleen, 52, said, ‘When me and Ray turn up anywhere, whether it’s a night out or a function, we get out of the car and then I don’t ever see him till we get back in the car, however many hours later.’
Opening up
Asked if she was OK with that, Coleen went on, ‘I’m kind of, yeah, I’m OK with it. I think it depends what function you’re going to obviously, but I think he’s the opposite because he goes, ‘Oh, you’re going to end up talking to people or having photos or whatever,’ so he just wants to go and get drunk, basically. He wants to go and have a drink and have a good time.
‘He can’t be bothered hanging around with me going, ‘Hello’ – so he just dumps me!’
Coleen, who met Ray after her marriage breakdown to actor Shane Richie in 1999, revealed earlier this year that she was having marriage difficulties. Talking to the Sunday Mirror, she said, ‘I know Ray doesn’t fancy me. I feel people, including my husband, judge me on my weight.’ At the time the star, who is mum to Shane Jnr, 28, Jake, 24, and Ciara, 16, was determined to find a way to save their relationship, saying, ‘We’re going to do a lot of talking. If we can’t fix it, then I want us to have counselling. The next step is a trial separation. ‘I can’t bear the thought of it [marriage] all failing again,’ she continued. ‘I really love him and he’s so good. And I always feel like I’m having a go at him here and he’s going to come across horrible – and he’s not.’
Time apart
But since the shock revelation back in January it now seems the couple are back on track following a short break.
Talking on Loose Women a few months later she hinted to her colleagues, ‘Having that time apart makes you realise, ‘You know what? I do want to be with that person.’ And at least when you go back, you know it’s because you want to and not because you feel you have to be. It’s a nice feeling.’
On her husband ‘I really love him and he’s so good’
