Why go?

Like most cou­ples with chil­dren, week­end breaks on your own rarely hap­pen. But with our boys well into their teens, I reck­oned it was time to cut the apron strings and see if Madrid could re­vive two weary par­ents. And with its el­e­gant boule­vards and parks, grand build­ings and food mar­kets, the Span­ish cap­i­tal didn’t dis­ap­point. We came home with a glow on our faces and a spring in our steps.
