Ugly skin tags

-

Q My husband has developed lots of tiny skin tags around his neck. They don’t bother him at all but they look unsightly. Can we have them removed?

A Skin tags often occur in areas of friction, so the collar line in men is very common. They are also often found in armpits, waistlines, groins and around the bra line in women. They can be removed by freezing or with a small scalpel but this isn’t something covered by the NHS. If you enrol a friend to hold the tag with a pair of tweezers, you can tie dental floss tightly around the base of the tag and it will drop off a few days later, although sadly, I’m afraid, they may recur.
