‘I’ve been mistaken for my husband’s daughter’

-

Michelle Green is a fashion blogger from Marlow. She has two children. People frequently mistake me for being younger from behind, and even when they see my face.

A typical comment when they learn the truth is, ‘Oh my God, you don’t even look 40, let alone your age!’

Keeping toned

On numerous occasions when we’ve been out as a family – including at a recent 30th birthday party – I’ve been mistaken for my husband’s daughter, despite him being in great shape too! Although I’ve always looked younger than my years, it’s become more pronounced as I’ve got older, mostly because I’ve still got youthful midlength hair and a slim, toned figure. I’m 5ft 2in tall, a size 8-10, and I watch what I eat. I also strength train in our home gym and with a personal trainer once a week to keep my defined waist and bum in shape.

One male friend makes no secret of the fact that he loves my shape from behind – and fortunately his wife doesn’t seem to mind.

My daughter’s only 17, but we often wear the same trainers or top. You’re as likely to find me buying clothes in Topshop and New Look as Jigsaw and Hobbs.

Final check

Before stepping out of the house, I always do a full twist to check my reflection from behind and ensure that my tummy, bottom and hair look good from all angles. l For more, visit Michelle’s blog Fifty & Fab at fiftyandfab.co.uk
