Creed II Out now

Three years after 2015’s hit spin-off movie Creed lifted the Rocky franchise off the canvas, the sequel comes out swinging to set up the grudge match to end them all – Michael B Jordan’s scrappy contender-turned-heavyweight champ, Adonis, versus the son of the man who killed his dad, Apollo Creed, in Rocky IV, Russian hulk Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu). The fight scenes pack quite a punch, but despite the return of Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Brigitte Nielsen, the episodes outside the ring are too sappy to make the movie a knockout.
