Help! I can’t afford my private treatment

QI saw a specialist privately under my company insurance scheme and he wanted me to have an MRI scan of my tummy. I was in the process of changing jobs when I saw him and when the scan date came through, I had moved companies, so no longer had the cover. I can’t afford to pay for it myself. Can I ask to have the scan on the NHS? A Speak to your consultant’s secretary. He may be happy to arrange this on the NHS for you, but he may need an NHS referral from your GP. If this is the case, ring your surgery and ask to leave a message for your doctor, asking him to send the original private referral to your consultant on the NHS.
