Is he having an ‘emotional affair’?

QMy partner isn’t having an affair but is very close to another woman – his best friend. I have no problem with this, but what I do mind is that he tells her things before me. He had a health scare a while ago and went to the GP with her, not me, and another time decided to change jobs after talking with her. What do I do?

AYou need to talk to your partner and explain why you find these incidents so hurtful. In his mind, he’s probably used to leaning on his best friend, but you need to tell him that you also want to be given a chance to be there for him, especially as you are in a relationship together.
