Expert-approved: Jeans to suit every shape
From sculpting styles to relaxed fits, our fashion team pick their denim essentials
Wide strides
I find shopping for jeans a bit of a minefield, but this season I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone. I love wide-leg jeans that skim over my thighs and fall to the floor, helping me appear taller. Tucking in a top will highlight my waist, as the extra-large turn-ups on the bottoms make a serious style statement. £49.99, sizes 4-18, Mango Joely
Straight and narrow
Being on the short side, it’s not easy to find leg lengths to suit, so I have become accustomed to a raw edge, as I often chop them down myself! My favourite shape is a slim, straight cut. They’re a great balance – not too restrictive or too loose – and they’re perfect for any outfit. Add heels and a cami to dress up or trainers and a T-shirt for a casual look. £34.99, sizes 6-16, H&M Paula
Mum’s the word
I swear by the modern shape of mom jeans. I’m not a fan of anything too tight around my thighs so this tapered style is ideal for me. Narrow at the waist, roomier around the bum and tighter at the ankle for a flattering silhouette. Worn with trainers or sandals, they’re great for everyday comfort. £27.99, sizes 4-18, Zara Charlie
Skinny style
I don’t think you can beat classic skinny jeans. They might be Marmite, but I love the streamlined style. I’m not a fan of low-rise cuts, so I will always look out for a high waist that feels extra supportive, with added stretch for comfort. The tight leg means I can play with volume on my top half and team with relaxed-fit shirts or slouchy knits. £32, sizes 6-24, Next Becky
