EMBRACE YOUR GREYS
A recent report has found that having grey hair as a woman means you are seen as being ‘less able’. What? For the millionth time why are men allowed to be silver foxes but us lot are consigned to the old hag role?
Going grey is what happens. It’s natural. And it’s just hair that’s lost its pigment for goodness sake, not a death sentence. Yet still it’s one law for us and another for them.
Well, a group of women are fighting back. Calling themselves the Silver Sisters, they’re ‘reclaiming’ natural-coloured hair and using it to empower themselves. Granted it helps that many of them are actually still quite young and beautiful to boot, but I’m dying to join them.
(Small disclaimer: my ‘naturally’ blonde hair has been platinum since I started tipping buckets of bleach over it as a kid, so not too big a leap for me.)
I know we all have to stick by the COVID rules, but how much did you love the story about a bunch of doublevaccinated OAPS being fined for having a knees-up? It was a 70th birthday party and, after a year of isolation and uncertainty, who can blame them?
