BLEEDING WHEN I PEE

QWhen I went to the toilet recently, my urine was the colour of red wine. There was no stinging, and it became paler throughout the day. It is now back to normal and I feel fine, but I am terrified it could be bladder cancer. Should I see my GP?

ABlood in the urine (haematuria) should be checked out. Your GP will want a urine sample and if symptoms recur or there are microscopic traces of blood, she may do further tests. This isn’t necessarily cancer (red urine can be caused by eating beetroot), but your GP will want to know.
