1979 EMULATING FARRAH

I’ve always had fine hair, and used to wish it was thicker – but, looking back, this was one of my favourite styles. I was just 16 in 1979 and had recently had it permed, and every morning before school, I spent half an hour in front of the mirror with a pair of curling tongs. It was probably terrible for my hair, but I loved styling it and the way I felt as I emulated Farrah Fawcett’s curls.
