KATE: ‘I’M GRATEFUL’
Kate Garraway’s life has been in turmoil since her husband Derek Draper was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March 2020. After spending 13 months in hospital battling the virus, Derek moved back to their family home in North London, where Kate became his carer. But despite the incredibly tough times they are facing, Kate insists that she is grateful, saying, ‘How many nights did I pray, “Please let him live”? And he did live, and he is home, so from there on anything else is a bonus.’ She later added, ‘There are very hard days and nights, but, yeah, I’ve got a lot of hope.’
