Can her GP send us meds?

-

Q

Mum came to stay for the first time in two years over Christmas, and I was shocked by how much she has aged. I wasn’t sure how she would cope going home on her own, so she stayed with us while we worked out the next steps. She is running short on medication now. Do I have to go back to her GP for a repeat or can they send a prescription in the post?

A

Her GP can send an electronic prescription to a pharmacy of your choice. Or you can register your mum with your surgery, either as a temporary resident or permanently, while you decide on long-term plans, and they can issue prescriptions for her.
